Demolition, site work and new construction of a residential development in Richlands, Virginia. Completed plans call for the demolition of a residential development; for the construction of a residential development; and for site work for a residential development.
The Tazewell County School Board is accepting sealed bids for the demolition of a single structure house located at 171 Robinhood Lane, Richlands, VA. All bids must be in writing and must contain an original signature by an authorized officer of the company. The Tazewell County School Board reserves the right to reject any and all proposals and to negotiate with any respondent to the bid invitation if deemed to be in the best interest of the school division. Awards shall be made to the qualified and responsible Contractor whose bid is responsive to this solicitation. A responsible Bidder is one whose financial, technical, and other resources indicate an ability to perform the services required by this solicitation. Bids shall contain the number of days to complete the project. Bids shall be LUMP SUM and shall include ALL WORK necessary to complete the project to the full intent of the project's scope. No money will be allowed for extra work except when approved in writing prior to commencement of work. Prices shall include asbestos abatement costs, if present, all overhead, profit, labor, materials, equipment and incidental work and shall be included in the sum total. Any and all unit prices established for the project shall be good for the duration of the contract. Bids shall contain a copy of the company's current and valid State of Virginia Class B Contractor License, and a copy of the company's current and valid general liability insurance in the minimum amount of one million dollars ($1,000,000). In submitting a Bid, the Bidder acknowledges that he has examined the site of the work and informed himself fully in regard to all conditions pertaining to the place where the work is to be done; and is familiar with all Federal, State, and local laws and regulations that may affect cost, progress, and performance of the Work. The house located at 171 Robinhood Lane, Richlands, VA has flooded several times and is in need of demolition. Prior to demolition, an asbestos survey must be conducted. The bid shall include the cost of asbestos abatement if asbestos is identified. Permits must be obtained from the Town of Richlands for demolition and removal of materials. The demolition materials must be hauled to the Tazewell County Landfill. No building is planned to be constructed on the site. Footers will not be removed, but covered with existing soil. All areas will be reclaimed with seed and straw.
