First Boulevard Forcemain Replacement The work to be done consists of furnishing all materials, equipment and labor necessary to replace the BJWSA First Boulevard 6" forcemain. Bidders must deposit security with all bids. Security shall be in the form of a certified check or bid bond made payable to the Owner, and shall be for an amount equal to not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid. Provisions of the security shall be as described in the Information for Bidders. The successful bidder, upon failure or refusal to execute and deliver the contract and bonds required within ten (10) days after they have received notice of the acceptance of their bid, shall forfeit to the Owner, as liquidated damages for such failure or refusal, the security deposited with the bid. SS03 The Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids. To be given consideration, the request must be received by January 19, 2024 at 4:00PM A. This Section of the specifications covers the scope and sequence of work. The scope of work includes construction of approximately: Replace approximately 1,300 linear feet of existing 6-inch cast iron forcemain with new 6-inch C900 DR25 PVC forcemain installed via open-cut, to include all associated fittings and appurtenances including (4) air release valves and (1) flow control manhole with approximately 90 linear feet of 8-inch gravity sewer. New forcemain shall be encased below road crossings and shall connect to (3) existing vertical offset areas. The discharge manhole shall be lined with protective interior coating. Provide all required bypass to maintain sewer and forcemain flows throughout the project. B. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals required to complete the work as shown on the drawings and as specified herein. C. Forcemain replacement includes: 1. Replacing existing sewer forcemain and installing new appurtenances (refer to Section 02088 PVC PRESSURE PIPE and Section 02532 VALVES AND APPURTENANCES FOR WASTEWATER WORK); 2. Installing a new flow control manhole and gravity sewer piping (refer to Section 02631 PRECAST CONCRETE MANHOLES AND CATCH BASINS and Section 02085 PVC GRAVITY SEWER PIPING); 3. Connecting to an existing sewer manhole (refer to Section 02533 CONNECTIONS TO EXISTING STRUCTURES); 4. Rehabilitating one manhole including exterior sealing and interior coating, epoxy lining, and repairs. (refer to Section 02435, SEWER MANHOLE REHABILITATION)
