General The Scope of Work for this Project shall consist of providing all supplies, support services, data, labor, tools, materials, equipment, supervision, construction and all else required to prepare the site and construct the elevator addition at the west bus operating facility. This project requires 'Buy America', and all products must meet the requirements of this program. This building site has been noted to have hazardous materials underground. Although no such materials were discovered during the Geotechnical boring work at this project location, it is possible they may be encountered during excavation for this project. If contaminated soils are encountered, the contractor shall immediately stop work and contact the Metro project manager and Metro environmental specialist for direction. C. Project Scope The Work shall include, but not be limited to, the following major items, to the extent specified and indicated: 1. Provide administration and construction support services to complete work. 2. Coordination with utility owners, governing agencies, and other contractors. 3. Clear and grub the area of vegetation, shrubs, debris and existing trees and bushes not designated to remain. 4. Ensure the protection of trees, shrubs, vegetation, structures, and facilities where indicated. 5. Perform demolition and removal of above ground and underground structures and facilities as needed. 6. Perform required earthwork, including excavation, embankment, backfill and compaction. 7. Perform soil stabilization as required for paving. 8. Construct bus and vehicle traffic roadways, curbs, walks, ramps, shelters, and parking area columns, foundations, pads, and building, as indicated. 9. Construct storm and sanitary sewer systems and appurtenant structures. 10. Construct water and irrigation lines and appurtenant structures. 11. Provide fencing and gates as indicated. 12. Provide landscaping, including seeding, sodding, and planting and maintenance. 13. Provide pavement markings, traffic and parking signs and signals as indicated. 14. Provide lighting, lightning protection, public telephone and electrical facilities and systems. 15. Provide a clean Site during the Work and prior to written acceptance by METRO. 16. Provide a weather-protecting passenger (space frame or alternate space frame) canopy, including benches, solid glass block and brick walls with steel frames for bus passenger loading/unloading area, and brick masonry paving as indicated. 17. Extend offsite drainage, water, and sanitary sewer facilities to the site. 18. Provide utility building. 19. Provide concrete traffic barriers as indicated.
