Valley Junction Alleys - Phase 8, includes approximately 300 LF of Subdrain, 413 SY of Granular Surfacing and 1,814 SY of 6 PCC Pavement with 1,808 SY Modified Subbase. The project also includes Excavation, Construction Staking, Traffic Control, and other related items needed to complete the project Work on said project shall commence within ten (10) days of the written notice to proceed and shall be completed by September 30, 2024. Each alley closure shall be limited to a consecutive four (4) week period. Liquidated damages in the amount of Five Hundred dollars ($500.00) per day will be assessed for each day that the work remains uncompleted after the September 30, 2024 completion date and for each day that an alley remains closed after the four (4) week closure period. All bids shall be made on the form furnished by the City through wdm.ionwave.net and shall be filed on or before the time specified above. Each proposal shall be electronically accompanied by a scanned copy of the bid bond or a scanned copy of a cashier's or certified check drawn on an Iowa bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid. If a bid bond is submitted it must be on the form provided with the contract documents. A physical copy of the bid security will be required to be submitted to the City Clerk's Office by the apparent low bidder within 48 hours of the bid deadline. Additionally the contractor must provide the City with a guarantee of maintenance of said improvement in the form of surety for a period of four (4) years from the time of acceptance by the City.
