The work includes, in general, the installation of PVC and HDPE sewer pipes and sanitary sewer manholes, a self-priming pump with miscellaneous pipe fittings and appurtenances, electrical power supply and controls, the replacement of roadways and curb and gutter, the rehabilitation of a concrete structure, and possible tree removal. This work shall be diligently prosecuted to completion before the expiration of ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY (180) CALENDAR DAYS beginning on the fifteenth calendar day after the date shown on the Notice to Proceed Each bid must be accompanied by either a cashiers check, certified check or bidders bond in a sum equal to at least ten (10%) percent of the total amount bid. Checks or bonds must be made payable to the City of Reedley; such securities shall be a guarantee that the bidder, if his bid is accepted, will enter into a satisfactory contract and furnish a good and sufficient bond for faithful performance thereof and for payment of labor and material costs in accordance with the requirements of the plans and specifications. A Class A General Engineering Contractors license is required. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in bids received, or to award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder complying with these instructions as may serve the best interest of the City of Reedley. The City reserves the right to award the contract to other than the lowest bidder if it appears that the best interests of the City of Reedley will be served thereby.
