Overview: The Lynchburg Economic Development Authority along with the Department of Public Works is seeking bids from qualified companies to perform logging and forestry mulching operations at three sites in the Ivy Creek Innovation Park. The stands have a combined estimated timber volume of 143,608 board feet. Vendors should list on the bid form the amount of money they will pay to the City for the harvesting of the timber, as well as the cost of forestry Forestry Mulching: Slash, bushes, small trees, downed woody debris, and stumps shall be mulched, chipped, or ground so that all areas of the site within the marked boundary are uniformly clean and open. No wood pieces left shall be larger than 2inches in diameter and no longer then 12inches in length. Stumps shall be flush with surrounding mineral grade, or not more than two inches above grade. BID BONDS: Only when specifically requested in the bid documents shall each bid be accompanied by a bid bond with surety satisfactory to the City or a Cashier's or a Certified Check, made payable to the City of Lynchburg. In the event of default by the Bidder, the deposit shall be and represent liquidated damages to the City. Bids received without a bid bond, when specifically requested, shall be rejected.
