The ENGINEER reserves the right to reject any joint of pipe which has not completely complied with the provisions of these specifications. Any unsatisfactory joint shall be replaced without cost to the OWNER. 1.Perform a turnkey repair on minor and/or major water line leaks/breaks throughout the City. Repairs may include but are not limited to City service lines, curb stop repairs, corporation stop repairs, and water main breaks. Under this Contract, repairs are limited to 12-inch lines and smaller. 2. All material shall be provided by the City of Beaumont. 3. Contractor to notify any customers that will be affected by necessary service shutdowns to complete repairs on an as needed basis. City will operate valves and isolate lines. 4. Contractor to make locate calls prior to commencing any authorized work. Contractor will also be required to apply for a street cut/ barricading permit at no cost, for each location that is under pavement. 5. Contractor to provide trench excavation protection (as needed). 6. Backfill all excavations and pits per City of Beaumont Standard Detail. If under pavement, backfill to bottom of pavement with cement stabilized sand and the remaining depth required to match the existing top of pavement will be filled with asphalt milling material. 7. Contractor to haul off excess spoils/material. 8. Water mains that are temporarily taken out of service are to be chlorinated per state regulations (Bac-T sample to be done by the city). 9. Traffic control as required by the most recent TxDOT TCP Standards.
