Each firm participating in the Joint Venture must be prequalified by the NJDOT The subject project involves the replacement of both the Rt. 80 EB and WB Structures over Howard Blvd., and the installation of two overhead sign structures. In addition, operational improvements within the interchange will be provided including improving the existing traffic signal, improving I-80 acceleration and deceleration lanes, improving the ramps, widening Howard Blvd. The project will be constructed in approximately 5 construction seasons, and it will require extensive staging and coordination efforts. The road work includes drainage, pavement, excavation, ITS (CCTV & FO), bridge approach reconstruction, extensive utility relocations (JCP&L electric; NJNG gas, Altice/Cablevision, and large scale watermains replacement (MCMUA).
