The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality requires the City to meet or exceed an elevated water storage tank capacity of 100 gallons per connection. The City currently has two 500,000 gallon elevated water storage tanks, and the current number of connections is 9,423. Depending on growth rates, the remaining capacity of 577 connections expected to be exceeded within the next 2-4 years. Current forecasts indicate the proposed 1-million-gallon storage tank will address future demands for elevated storage for more than 10 years. As of November 6, 2025, this project has not started construction. The architect has been identified and information regarding the method of general contractor selection is unavailable. A firm construction timeline has not been established. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
