.1 Work of this Contract comprises the renovation of J.H. Bruns Collegiate Science Classrooms located on 250 Lakewood Blvd, Winnipeg, Manitoba; and further identified as J.H. Bruns Collegiate Science Classrooms Renovation. .2 The work encompassed the renovation of two (2) existing science classrooms. .3 The Science Classrooms are located on the second floor of the building above an existing library. The work requires access from the Main Floor. The scope of work includes mechanical work in main floor ceiling space, and adjacent spaces. It is General Contractor responsibility to patch, paint, restore to the existing conditions and make good all areas adjacent to the Science Classrooms including but not limited to Corridors, Classrooms, Main Floor, Library, etc. .4 No change in the Building Major Occupancy Classification is expected. No Changes in the Major Occupancy and Fire Separations are anticipated. Existing fire Separation shall remain. No variation in the Building Occupant Load is projected. .5 Asbestos containing materials [ACM] were confirmed to be present. Perform Work in 22 weeks within time stated in Section 01 11 00 Summary of Work. Construction starts October 30th, 2023 and it ends March 29th, 2024. Bids shall be accompanied by security deposit as follows: Bid Bond in an amount not less than 10 percent of Bid price. Owner reserves right to reject a proposed subcontractor for reasonable cause.
