Indigenous Garden and Healing Space Project at Toronto General Hospital, University Health Network (UHN). TIMELINE: A Request For Proposals has been issued by the owner. The awarded proponent will be a Design Services Team. Through this Request for Proposals (RFP), University Health Network (UHN) is seeking to engage a qualified Architectural team to provide services comprising of schematic design, detailed design development, construction documents and contract administration as part of the Indigenous Healing and Garden Space Project. The required scope of work will include, and not limited to, the design and engineering services, renovation, alterations of the existing facility, structural and electrical infrastructure upgrades and provision of new services as required for the new space. The intent with this RFP is to have a Design consultant partner to design and plan the Indigenous Healing and Gathering Space at UHN. The design and planning phases include Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Document, Tender, Contract Administration and close out. Progression to each phase will require approval from an internal UHN executive committee. The project design team should be either Indigenously owned and/or operated, or Indigenous-led (for instance, lead Project Manager is Indigenous). Provide examples of previous work for Indigenous focused spaces. The team must include expertise related to architecture, Indigenous ceremonies and practices, mechanical & electrical engineer, structural engineer, interior/furniture, building code and hardware consultant, and landscape architecture as required. The Work is to be performed from the contract award date (anticipated to be December 2023) for a period of 2 years.
