The primary voltage of the transformer will be 13800 GRDY / 7970 volts. Requested secondary voltage, KVA and quantities Transformers are for both loop and radial operation. The primary shall consist of three individual coils connected in WYE and the secondary shall consist of three individual coils connected in WYE. These coils shall be wound on a five-legged or equivalent core design to eliminate unbalanced and ferroresonant conditions The live front, high voltage termination shall be externally clamped, porcelain bushings, with clamp type connectors or blade terminal as required for vertical take-off. The dead front, high voltage termination shall be externally clamped, universal type bushing wells or internal bushings Transformer shall be furnished with (4) 2½% full capacity taps, two above and two below the nominal voltage, controlled by a no-load externally operated tap changer, the handle of which shall be located in the high voltage compartment. The Town of Norwood reserves the right to increase or decrease the quantity of items ordered, whichever is in the best interest of the Town. The Town of Norwood is under no obligation to purchase this transformer. Bidders shall make themselves aware of the provisions of Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 149, Section 26 to 27F before filing a sealed BID with the Town. This law refers to the prevailing wage rate minimums as set forth by the Massachusetts Department of Labor and Industries, 100 Cambridge Street, Boston, MA 02202. BID BONDS OR SURETY (Not Required) Pursuant to the terms, conditions, and final agreement executed, the contractor shall present to the Town within ten (10) days of notification of contract award a performance surety and a payment surety in an amount equal to fifty percent (50%) of the Contract Award amount. The bond or surety shall remain in force throughout the guaranty period, warranty period, or period so specified by the Town, for all projects, products, materials, supplies, equipment, apparatus or other designated bid items. The Town of Norwood hereby notifies all Bidders that minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to the Advertisement to Bid and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color or national origin in consideration for an award. The sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($500) per cancellation is to be agreed upon as liquidated damages, and shall be paid by the Contractor to the Owner for each non- Norwood weather cancellation. If the contractor fails to report as scheduled for reasoning other than inclement weather forecasted in Norwood, the Town may elect to impose liquidated damages. Reductions for liquidated damages shall be made from payments due the Contractor. All questions must be submitted in writing to jadams@norwoodma.gov.
