1. Mobilization a) Site Preparation including protection of existing trees and features, establishing a safe access point to the work site, and lay down area. b) Attend the Curve Lake First Nation Cultural Ceremony and pre-job meeting. 2. Removals a) Trees shall be fully removed including the disposal of all materials, clean-up/raking of site and stump grinding. b) Wood and debris must be cleaned up and are not to be left onsite to be cleaned up at a later date. c) Any damage to other trees or understory caused by the contractor is to be corrected by either pruning or removal. d) Stems are to be cut level and to grade. e) Stumps i. The stump, root flare and lateral roots above grade are required to be removed to a depth of not less than four (4) inches. i. The Successful Bidder is responsible for the cleanup & disposal of all mulch, and re-instatement of soil and grass seed. ii. Mulch must be cleaned out of the holes so that re-instatement will leave a flat surface with no humps. ii. Stump sites will be audited for depth and clean up before payment is made. i. Securing utility locates and hand digging where necessary will be the responsibility of the Successful Bidder. iii. Any damage to underground utilities or private property will be the responsibility of the Successful Bidder and must be repaired immediately. 3. Shrubs and Small Trees (DBH less than 10 cm) a) The shrubs and small trees are required to be cut level and to grade. b) The shrubs, small trees, and debris must be cleaned up and be disposal of by the Successful Bidder. c) Stump sites will be audited for depth and clean up before payment is made. i. Securing utility locates and hand digging where necessary will be the responsibility of the Successful Bidder. d) Any damage to underground utilities or private property will be the responsibility of the Successful Bidder and must be repaired immediately. 4. Demobilization and Final Documentation a) Restore the lay down area and access point and remove tree protection. b) Provide redlined map of site with removed trees. 5. Riparian a) When working within proximity of creeks, rivers, drainage ditches or any water course all wood and debris must be removed. 6. Safety a) It is the Successful Bidder's responsibility to ensure they are in compliance with all safety regulations (OHSA) and best practices that pertain to the work being completed on behalf of InnServices. b) All workers on the job must be trained, deemed a "competent worker", and be certified to complete the tasks they are assigned. c) Book 7 for traffic control set up must be adhered to for traffic control setup and documented on the crew's tailboards. d) As outlined in OSHA the Electrical Utility Safety Rules must be followed when working in proximity to energized conductors. e) Along with adhering to the Electrical Utility Safety Rules, the Successful Bidder is responsible for working with local Hydro companies and satisfying their competency expectations to secure the required permits when working in proximity to energized conductors. 7. Contract Notes a) DBH is only an estimated reference. b) The number and location of trees is only an estimate. 8. Forestry Crew Qualification Requirements of the Successful Bidder Minimum qualifications: The Successful Bidder is to ensure each crew compliment will consist of a minimum of two (2) competent workers with the following training while representing InnServices during the completion of this project. See section 15. Execution of Contract upon Award in this RFT for full details/requirements: Provide, proof in writing for the qualifications of the Arborist Crew - Non-Utility as follows: o 1 competent Lead Hand (Crew Leader) who is a Certified Arborist with the ISA and (or) MCTU (444A) and; o 1 competent grounds person who is chainsaw and chipper certified and familiar with aerial rescue procedures. Ontario Traffic Control - Book 7. Question Deadline: Thu Sep 21, 2023 4:30 PM (EDT) Duration in months: 3 Bid Bond shall be in the amount of $60,000.
