Site work and new construction of a municipal facility in Albany, New York. Design plans call for the construction of a 110,000-square-foot municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.
As of April 1, 2024, this solicitation is still pending. A firm timeline for construction has not been established. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: Provide consulting, design, bid and construction phase services for a new 110,000 SF building to be located at the Harriman State Office Building Campus, Albany NY. The new building will house DHSES Office of Emergency Management Services (OEM), and Emergency Operations Center (EOC). The CONSULTANT shall provide complete design, specifications, field survey, estimating and construction administration/support activities to provide a new DHSES, OEM and EOC building and associated site work as indicated on the provided Program Area, Blocking Diagrams, Site Location Map and Program Report. The current facility housing both the OEM Headquarters and the State's EOC currently located in Building 22 on the Harriman State Office Building Campus is antiquated. Located in a cold war era, underground bunker, the facility is not conducive to conducting coordinated, multi-agency response to a crisis or disaster. Collaboration and communication are difficult, and the footprint is ill suited for presentations and large meetings.
