Addition and major renovations to the Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital. The scope of the project includes the construction of a new Critical Care Pavilion including a basilar and two hospitalization towers, a significant redevelopment of the first floors of the Maisonneuve Pavilion, as well as all the related collateral work required to carry out the project. The project implementation will allow to increase the number of beds from 544 to 746 and will require 1,500 additional nurses. The scope of the project also includes major landscaping work. The project will be certified LEEDv4 BD+C. TIMELINE: Project design is underway, plans and specification are prepared by construction packages. The Quebec government has taken another step forward in the Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital expansion and modernization project, with the confirmation of investments totaling over $700 million. An initial allocation of nearly $400 million will allow for key interventions, including the acquisition of three strategic properties near the hospital, the relocation of underground infrastructure (water, sewer, electricity, and telecommunications), as well as the installation of connections and the construction of a section of the tunnel linking the existing and future buildings. A call for tenders for the preparatory work will be issued in May 2026 to begin this work. In parallel, an additional $300 million is earmarked to complete the design phase, including the establishment of the project office and the development of detailed plans and specifications.
