2023-57 Liquid Calcium Chloride (Brine) Ice and Snow Removal The City of Newark intends to enter into a contract with a vendor to provide liquid calcium chloride in bulk quantities for the purpose of snow and ice control. The contract shall cover actual quantities ordered for delivery during the contract period and payment shall be made at original unit prices for the accepted quantities of liquid calcium chloride. The city shall not guarantee any minimum quantities. The bidder must have on-hand reasonable quantities of the materials required under this contract. All materials shall comply with the current specification. The City reserves the right to inspect all materials before and after delivery, take samples & test for compliance, and return all material not meeting the specifications. The bidder agrees to replace all such rejected materials within 3 calendar days after notification by the City, and at no additional cost to the City. Any expectations to these specifications are to be fully outlined in an addendum enclosed with this bid package must describe in detail how the alternate product offered differs from the item specified. Liquid Calcium Chloride (Brine) shall be delivered to the City's primary storage facility located at Earl Street and Frelinghuysen Avenue, Newark, New Jersey, and at a secondary storage facility located 12th Street and 12th Avenue., or at any other location within the City limits, if required. Deliveries shall be ground deliveries in designated areas. bidders may schedule an appointment to inspect the storage facility or other areas in which brine will be delivered by contacting the Director of Public Works or his representative. Respondents are required to comply with N.J.S.A. 10:5-31, et seq., P.L. 1975, c. 127, N.J.A.C. 17:27-1 et seq., and all other applicable laws, regulations, or ordinances concerning affirmative action goals and equal employment opportunity. The City of Newark reserves the right to reject any and all proposals in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40A:11-4, 40A:11-13.2 and 40A:11-23.2, and waive minor informalities not considered material defects under N.J.S.A. 40A:11-1, et seq.
