Sealed bids for furnishing all labor and materials, and performing all work required by the City and described as follows: Project: Asbestos Abatement and Demolition and Clearance Project No. PRI-SB-21-001 Project includes removal of Asbestos Containing Materials (asbestos abatement) from eight residential structures and the demolition and clearance of those structures to include site restoration. Thirty (30) calendar days are allowed for the completion of this project. The Contractor must furnish to the City at the time of the signing of the contract a certificate of insurance coverage as provided in the Specifications. The right is reserved to reject any and/or all bids and to waive informalities and to furnish any item of material or work to change the amount of said Contract. Funding for this project has been provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Community Development Block Grant program, and all applicable federal requirements must be met. Liquidated damages for non-completion of the work within the time limit agreed upon will be assessed in accordance with the terms of the Contract. No bids will be considered unless the bidder has obtained certification from ADEM to provide asbestos abatement services in Alabama. Prior to the award of a competitively bid contract to a contractor having one or more employees in the State of Alabama, Alabama law requires that the contractor provide the City proof of enrollment in E-Verify and to execute a certificate of compliance with the Beason-Hammon Alabama Taxpayer And Citizen Protection Act (Act 2011-535), as amended by Act 2012-491.
