Site work for a laboratory facility in Kelowna, British Columbia. Completed plans call for site work for a laboratory facility.

This is the Phase 2 solicitation following an Invitation to Qualify. Only qualified suppliers have been invited to bid. Work to be performed under the Contract includes, but is not limited to, the following items, including all ancillary Work at the Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) Kelowna Research Station, Kelowna, BC. 1. Soil classification based on in situ testing; ex situ testing may be required as directed by the Departmental Representative. 2. Excavation of Contaminated Soil. All excavations are shallow (0.3 m), and there is no Overburden or Topsoil within the Contaminated Soil Extents. Contaminated Soil excavation from 0-0.3m must not be handled in a way that it is allowed to be mixed or spilled onto other soil onsite. Excavation Limits on Drawings based on a nominal 1:1 slope for volume estimating purposes only; actual shoring and/or slope requirements responsibility of the Contractor. Excavated material may require stockpiling pending Transportation. 3. Transportation of Contaminated Soil to disposal facilities. Contractor takes ownership of all material leaving site. 4. Treatment of Contaminated Soil, specifically DDT to less than 0.7 mg/kg. Treatment is a requirement of the Contract, and alternatives (i.e. direct disposal without treatment), even if compliant with regulations, are not allowed under the Contract. 5. Disposal of Contaminated Soil. All material identified as Contaminated on the Site must be disposed of at a licensed Disposal Facility, including material that has been treated. Includes Contaminated Sediment. 6. As required, Treatment of Contaminated Water Offsite. Applies to Contaminated Water from equipment and personnel decontamination and Contaminated Water from excavation dewatering. Contractor responsible for transport and treatment. Contractor takes ownership of all material leaving site. 7. As required, Treatment of Contaminated Water Onsite. Optionally applies to Contaminated Water from excavation dewatering. Contractor responsible for discharge permits.
