1. The municipality reserves the option of renewing the contract for a further one year if the municipality is satisfied with the service provided by the bidder. 2. The contractor will provide the tools, equipment and supplies necessary to perform the work. He must ensure that equipment operators have the skills required to operate the various pieces of equipment. 3. The contractor is responsible for any damage caused during the work required by this contract. 4. The contractor must ensure that his equipment is in perfect condition for the job, and that its operators are competent. 5. It is the contractor's responsibility to ensure that clearing work begins early enough to complete clean-up as soon as possible after snow accumulation. 6. The municipality must be contacted as soon as possible in the event of equipment breakdown. 7. Ensure that parking lots, traffic lanes and all entrances to the building are always safe and ensure salt and / or sand is applied as needed. 8. The parking lots at the 2 Fire Stations must always be open 24 hours a day so that firefighters can get out to respond to emergency calls. 9. If in the opinion of the Miramichi River Valley, the terms of this contract are not being met in a satisfactory manner, the Miramichi River Valley reserves the right to cancel the contract immediately. If this decision is made, the contractor will be notified in writing that the contract is cancelled, and payments will cease on the date the contract is cancelled.
