The Officer Dining Hall is a designated area within the MCI-J facility for correctional officers and other staff members to eat meals. The drain pipes within the Officer Dining Hall have corroded, which has exposed the underlying building foundation to water exposure and erosion. The intent of this IFB is to obtain the services of a licensed Contractor to repair and replace the corroded pipes to prevent further damage to the buildings foundation. The Department of Public Safety & Correctional Services (DPSCS) is issuing this Invitation for Bids (IFB) in order to procure the services defined in this Section 2, as specified in this IFB, from a contract between the successful bidder(s) and the Department of Public Safety & Correctional Services to: Perform plumbing repairs in the Officer Dining Hall at the Maryland Correctional Institution Jessup (MCI-J), located at 7803 House of Correction Rd., Jessup, MD 20794. It is the State's intention to obtain goods and services, as specified in this IFB, from a Contract between the selected Bidder and the State he Officer Dining Hall is a designated area within the MCI-J facility for correctional officers and other staff members to eat meals. The drain pipes within the Officer Dining Hall have corroded, which has exposed the underlying building foundation to water exposure and erosion. The intent of this IFB is to obtain the services of a licensed Contractor to repair and replace the corroded pipes to prevent further damage to the building's foundation The Contractor must own and have in good condition all equipment necessary to perform the services detailed as part of this solicitation. The minimum size pipe that will be required to excavate and replace is a 4" x 50' pipe. The contractor must possess excavating equipment for digging and lifting heavy pumps. At a minimum, the Contractor shall: a) Scan concrete floors for utilities prior to sawing the floor; b) Mark floors by underground locator; c) Excavate and remove all concrete, debris, and corroded drain pipes; d) Remove and replace drain trap located at the end of the serving line; e) Install 4" x 50' cast iron pipe; f) Backfill area with stone; g) Pour concrete to match the thickness and level of existing concrete; h) Replace tile floor with matching 4" x 4" tile and grout; and i) Clean up work area;
