DESCRIPTION OF WORK A. Location of Work: Lake Park Blvd. from Parkway Blvd. to Bangerter Highway and south side of Links Dr. from Lake Park Blvd. to Stonebridge Golf Course.. B. Scope of Work: Contractor will be responsible for all labor, materials, equipment, coordination and incidentals necessary to complete work as described in the Contract Documents. The work to be performed generally includes, but is not limited to the following: 1. Schedule A: Removal of 18 existing street light poles and fixtures. Installation of one new power pedestal at an existing power source. Installation of a new street light system including 18 street lights and approximately 4,100 feet of conduit and aluminum wire. 2. Schedule B: Removal of 12 existing street light poles and fixtures Installation of one new power pedestal at an existing transformer. Installation of a new street light system including 12 street lights and approximately 2,400 feet of conduit and aluminum wire. 3. Other work normally encountered during construction on improved and unimproved properties. CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT A. Bidders are invited to Bid on a Construction Contract known as the 2023 Lake Park Lighting Phase 1. B. For information about the award of this Construction Contract contact Erik Brondum, West Valley City, Telephone (801) 963-3406. BIDDERS' PRE-QUALIFICATION A. Bidders are not required to be pre-qualified for this project. CONTRACT TIME A. The work will be substantially completed 240 days from the date of the Notice to Proceed. It is anticipated that Notice to Proceed will be given on October 30, 2023. PRE-BID CONFERENCE A. A pre-bid conference will not BID SECURITY A. Bid Security in the amount of at least five percent (5%) of the Bid must accompany each Bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. Bid Security will be returned to each unsuccessful Bidder after tabulation and award of the Construction Contract. PUBLIC INFORMATION MANAGER (PIM) RESPONSIBILITIES A. PIM to be designated at the preconstruction conference for the project. B. PIM to be available by phone Monday thru Friday during normal business hours from NTP to Final completion. C. Prepare and distribute a flier to the residents and businesses within 300 feet of the project limits prior to beginning construction. Provide the flier to the ENGINEER for approval prior to distribution. Flier shall include the following: 1. Print on orange paper. 2. Discuss the scope of the project, type of construction activity that the business/property owner should expect, and the anticipated schedule and completion date. 3. "CONTACT (Contractor's name) FOR QUESTIONS REGARDING THIS PROJECT AT (Contractor's phone number)." a. Phone number must allow the recording of a message from the caller. Contractor must check for messages daily. D. Respond to questions concerning project activities and schedules within 24 hours. F. As necessary, provide information to private individuals, local organizations interested in the project, and local city offices (fire, police, and Engineering Division). Send an email to roadwork@wvc-ut.gov anytime traffic patterns are modified. Any contact with media representing West Valley City must be approved through the West Valley City Public Relations Office.
