A&B Sections Neighborhood Utility Improvement Project. The Contractor must have a valid California contractor's license, a Class A license. The Engineers estimate for this project is $4.44 Million. A payment bond in the amount of 100% of the bid total will be required from the successful bidder for bids exceeding $25,000. The bond must be provided within fifteen (15) calendar days from notice of award and prior to the performance of any work. A performance bond and bid bond must also be provided for bids exceeding $25,000. The Contractor must begin work within fifteen (15) calendar days after official notice by the City Engineer to proceed with the work and must diligently prosecute the same to completion within 275 calendar days of that Notice. The City reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to reject any or all bids, to re-bid, or to waive inconsequential defects in bidding not involving time, price or quality of the work. The City may reject any and all bids and waive any minor irregularity in the bids. The work is described generally as the replacement and repairs of a watermain and several sewer mains, replacement of sewer manhole covers, installation of new sewer manholes, AC trench paving, AC paving, traffic striping and pavement markings, concrete gutter repairs, and retrofits of existing pedestrian access ramps in the "A" & "B" neighborhood section of the City. Additionally, the work includes the repair of sewer mains pipes and lower sewer service lateral repairs via "Cured in Place Pipe" technique as well as "Open Trench" technique. The work also includes the replacement of a water main via "Open Trench" including new water services, valves and fire hydrants.
