Renovation of a water / sewer project in Carmichael, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
The Carmichael Water District (District) provides domestic water to an estimated service area population of 38,000 customers via approximately 11,800 water service connections in Sacramento County. The District's Water Treatment Plant (WTP) was constructed in August 2001. The expansion of the Water Treatment Plant was completed in May 2008 to increase the capacity to 22 million gallons per day (MGD). A critical component of the Water Treatment Plant are the four (4) 300 horsepower (HP) raw water pumps with 80-foot columns. Based on the demand throughout the year, these pumps combined normally operate between pumping 8 - 15 MGD. During normal operations, there are 3 active and 1 standby pump, with the pumps rotating weekly. Since the WTP has been built, 2 of these pumps have been rehabilitated. The purpose of this Request for Quotation (RFQ) is for the District to procure materials and labor services for rebuilding and rehabilitating one of the raw water pumps at the District's Water Treatment Plant. Pump rehabilitation will help ensure water treatment and reliability.
