Contract structure of this project is Construction Manager - Agency. Payment and performance bond costs shall be included in the overall bid price. This will be a public bid opening. Bidders are required to submit a bid bond with their bids. No modifications to the bid documents or scopes of work are allowed. This project will achieve LEED Certification. All bidders must include applicable and corresponding LEED items pertaining to their scope to achieve this certification. This project consists first of the demolition of the existing 1 story school building (50,000 SF) and site. Once complete, construction of a new 79,000 sf building shall begin. The new 2 story building's structure is comprised of concrete footings, FEMA-rated precast walls, structural steel, structural studs with a combination of brick and metal panel skin. The new school includes a gymnasium, kitchen equipment, elevator, and all associated furnishings for a complete building. Bids shall be submitted on the Bid Form provided in Sections 00 41 23 or 00 41 26 without modification, alteration, condition or reservation and with each space properly completed in ink or by typewriter. Include all required attachments. Bids not in this form may be rejected as nonresponsive. Bids are encouraged to be submitted via Building Connect or in a sealed envelope, as this will be a public bid opening. E-mailed or faxed bids will not be accepted. Scopes that contain mark-ups or clarifications will be considered non-responsive. This Project is a public project governed by competitive bidding requirements. Any modification, clarification or deviation from the Bid Form or Scope of Work Bid Package could cause the Bid to be rejected as nonresponsive. Any clarifications, mark-ups, or exclusions submitted with your bid cannot be incorporated into your final contract with SMSD. All times are local time. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
