Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Cedar Lake, Indiana. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
Town Council of the Town of Cedar Lake, Lake County, Indiana, intends to award a contract for its 2023 CDBG Lynnsway ADA Improvements project. The scope of the project includes all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to improve the local sidewalks within the Lynnsway Subdivision in the Town of Cedar Lake as follows: Rehabilitation and reconstruction of existing concrete sidewalks and curb ramps including concrete sidewalk removal, curb and gutter removal, grading work, HMA surface patching, curb and gutter placement, placement of concrete sidewalks and curb ramps, installation of detectable warning elements, adjusting castings to grade, and maintaining traffic and homeowner access within the Lynnsway Subdivision. Some layout/surveying will be necessary for the work in order to reach ADA compliance. This work should be included within the bid price. It is important to the Town the work be conducted in a timely, organized, and sequential manner. The successful bidder must be prepared to commit adequate resources to complete the Work within the stated contract timeframe. Contractors should be pre-qualified with the Indiana Public Works Certification Board prior to starting work on any local public works project. No pre-bid conference will be held for this project. All Bidders should submit any questions in writing to Christopher. B. Burke Engineering, LLC, One Professional Center, Suite 314, Crown Point, Indiana 46307 by mail or email to Don Oliphant, PE at doliphant@cbbel.com and T.J. Gordon at tgordon@cbbel.com. Questions shall be received no later than 5:00 PM (Central) on October 3, 2023. Responses will be provided by no later than 5:00 PM (Central) on October 5, 2023 (as necessary). Engineer will transmit to all prospective Bidders of record such Addenda as Engineer considers necessary in response to questions submitted. Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope with the Project name marked clearly on the outside. Bids shall be executed and submitted on the forms provided by the Town including a Bid security, Indiana State Board of Accounts Form 96, Bid forms, Affirmative Action Statement, NonCollusion Affidavit, E-Verify Documentation, Iran Investments Certificates, pre-qualification with the Indiana Public Works Certification Board, a preliminary project schedule, and execution/review of all applicable CDBG project documents/requirements. A certified check or bank draft payable to the Town of Cedar Lake, or bid bond executed by the Bidder and acceptable surety in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Bid Price shall be submitted with the Bid. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish, execute, and deliver to the Town of Cedar Lake satisfactory performance and payment bonds, each in the amount of 100% of the Bid Price to guarantee the faithful performance of the Work and payment of suppliers and subcontractors within fifteen (15) days of the Notice of Award. Contractors must be shown on the Bidder's Planholder List in order to bid. Bids received by Contractors who are not on the Bidder's Planholder List may be rejected. The Town of Cedar Lake reserves the right to reject any and all Bids and the right to waive informalities in the best interest of the Town.
