Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by the Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda, via the contact information provided, Questions received less than seven (7) days prior to the date for opening bids may not be answered The project is located at the Southbridge Water Treatment Plant, 2500 225th Street and includes the demolition of the High Service Pumping Unit No. 2 reduced voltage solid state starter and electrical conductors and the installation of an adjustable frequency drive, electrical work, instrumentation and control work, and all other work as indicated on the drawings and as specified. The Notice of Public Hearing will be published in the Sioux City Journal on September 23, 2023 and September 30, 2023. The work on this project shall begin upon receipt of the Notice to Proceed and be fully completed by April 30, 2025. Each bid must be made on a form furnished by the City and must be accompanied by a bid bond, a cashier's check or certified check of an Iowa bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States, or a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid, made payable to the City Treasurer of the City of Sioux City, Iowa. The check or draft may be cashed by the City Treasurer as liquidated damages in the event the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract within the ten (10) days after notice of award and post bond satisfactory to the City ensuring the faithful fulfillment of the contract.
