Site work and new construction of a parking garage in Winthrop, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the construction of a parking garage; and for site work for a parking garage.
**As of November 07, 2023, project was awarded to Messner Builders Incorporated. but awarded amount is not available.** The City of Winthrop is seeking qualified contractors to submit bids for the construction of a new police garage. The police garage will sit next to and be connected to the police station at 307 N Pleasant St [Site Overhead Attached]. The garage must have 4 stalls, suitable for police SUVs and trucks to be stored. One stall will be used for evidence lockup and must contain a separate and secure entrance. It would be suitable for the garage to have in-floor heat to melt snow in the winter. All garage bays must have floor drains. One stall should act as a wash bay to keep cruisers clean. An eye cleansing or washing station along with a large utility sink is needed in the garage for cleaning and decontamination purposes. A medium sized indoor/outdoor kennel for stray dogs is requested on the east facing wall with the stipulation of making this access point securable from outside intruders through the dog door in the wall. The outdoor kennel needs to be completely covered to deter intruders. There should be a cement skirt in front of the garage to the roadway incorporated in the price of this project.
