The EchoWater Facility uses Mixed Sludge (MS) process tanks that were originally built in the early 1990's to store mixed sludge at an elevated temperature until the sludge can be taken into a digester. MS Tank #2 is made up of reinforced concrete over the bottom 2/3, while the top 1/3 is constructed from carbon steel. This project involves repairing delaminated concrete and concrete pop outs on the tank exterior as well as repairing a section of coating on the concrete interior. Additionally, a portion of the piping on the exterior of the tank needs to be replaced.
