Re-Tubing Boiler at Pump and Power Building. The City of Pittsfield is seeking competitive bids from qualified contractors for the re-tubing of the boiler at the City's Wastewater Treatment Plant - Pump & Power Building. The boiler is a Heat-Pack Boiler S/N 1F-7586 Work under this contract shall include, but not be limited to, the following: Inspect and measure boiler to verify proper size and amount for fire tube replacement. Isolate unit from system and drain. Cut, Remove and properly dispose of all existing failed tubes. Remove any loose sludge or scale from belly ofthe boiler as accessibility allows. Clean, inspect, and prep the front and rear tubes sheets for new tubes. Supply and install new fire tubes per existing size & gauge. Roll tubes tight to the tube sheet as per the manufacturer's specifications Install new hand hold gaskets. Hydro test fire tubes to just below the rated pressure ofthe relief valve Check for any leakages and take corrective action if any exist. Close the boiler using the new gaskets. Remove any debris generated by this work from the site Questions concerning this IFB should be directed to the City of Pittsfield Purchasing Agent up to five (5) business days before the time and date ofthe bid opening.
