The San Mateo County Transit District (SamTrans or Agency) anticipates releasing the above-titled request for proposals on November 1, 2023 tentatively. The procurement seeks proposals from qualified, California licensed general contractors (Proposers or Contractors) to provide Construction Manager General Contractor (CMGC) Services (Services) for the South Base Permanent Battery Electric Bus Charging Infrastructure Project (Project). The Project is anticipated to construct a total of 147 bus charging stations: 37 stations as part of the Project Construction Phase 1 and the remaining 110 stations as part of Construction Phase 2. The Pre-construction Services will include design of the entire 147 charging stations. The current construction cost estimate is between $15 to $17 million for Phase 1. The District, subject to Board of Directors' Approval, intends to award a Contract with the Successful Proposer for an eight-month term for the Pre-construction Services, with an 18-month term option for the Construction Phase 1. One Proposal is requested inclusive of Pre-construction and Construction Services solicited by this Request for Proposals (RFP). Selection will be on a best value basis, in accordance with the evaluation criteria set forth in the RFP. *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
