Johnson Street Bridge Detailed Inspection on Movable Bridge Elements. The Johnson Street Bridge has reached the period required for its first 5-year detailed inspection. Included in this structural condition assignment is a condition assessment of mechanical components necessary to operate the moveable span of the bridge. The City determined that engaging with the designer of the moveable span (Hardesty and Hanover) provided the best value due to their extensive background knowledge but also because of the multi-disciplinary team required and specialization with moveable bridges under CSA S6:19. It would allow the designers to review the structure and ensure it is functioning as the design intended The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
