As of March 24, 2025, this project is expected to bid in the spring. It is currently in the design phase. The Town is seeking professional engineering services for all necessary professional engineering for the project. Work will include the design, approval, permitting, bidding and award, construction inspection, and contract administration through the final certification on the project. The qualifications package should be limited to 15 pages (not including front or back covers, table of contents, and cover letter), should be clearly marked to indicate the project title, and should include the following: a. Description of engineering services on previous projects with comparable scope and complexity; b. References from at least 3 owners for which engineering services were provided on similar projects; c. List of specific personnel who would serve on the firm's project team with names and titles; d. Discussion of team availability; and e. Proposed project timeline. Awards will be made to the responsible and qualified firm whose qualifications are best aligned with the Town's project and strategic objectives. Interested engineering firms must first submit an "interest" email to the Town's Public Works Director, Dale Pennell, at dale.pennell@weavervillenc.org by not later than September 29, 2023. This email should include all contact information including contact person, phone number, email address, and mailing address. Project related information will be emailed to all firms that have timely submitted an "interest" email. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time. The Town reserves the right to accept a firm that is most advantageous to the Town.
