Kansas Turnpike Authority (KTA) is requesting bid proposals for furnishing all labor and materials and performing all work in accordance with the Plans and Specifications and other Contract Documents, known as KTA Contract No. 8072, Chase County, Kansas. Any bid may be withdrawn prior to the above-scheduled time for opening of bids or authorized postponement thereof. Any bid received after the time and date specified shall not be considered. No bidder may withdraw a bid within 60 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond in the amount of 5 percent of bid and payable to the Kansas Turnpike Authority, which can be uploaded directly This project on KTA (I-35) in Chase County is for the reconstruction of the Cattle Pens at MM 111 using pipe fence and related materials as shown in the Contract documents. The award of each contract shall be in accordance with the provisions of the Standard Specifications of the Kansas Department of Transportation, edition of 2015, and will be based upon the summation of the products of the unit prices and the approximate quantities. The Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularity therein, to determine which is the lowest responsible bid most suitable to the Authority. The successful bidder, upon his failure or refusal to execute and deliver the Contract and bonds required within 10 days after he has received notice of the acceptance of his bid, shall forfeit to the Authority, as liquidated damages for such failure or refusal, the security deposited with his bid. The Kansas Turnpike Authority (KTA) shall issue the Notice to Proceed after the Contractor executes a Contract with the KTA for the work and complies with all the requirements of the Standard Specifications and Special Provisions relating to issuance of the Notice to Proceed. The Notice to Proceed shall not be issued earlier than OCTOBER 16, 2023 Except as provided under Section 5 (MINOR CLEAN UP), the Contractor shall complete all work shown in the plans on or before MARCH 1, 2024. If all work is not completed on or before MARCH 1, 2024, as specified above, the Contractor shall be liable for liquidated damages.
