Demolition and site work for a water / sewer project in Upton, New York. Completed plans call for the demolition of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.

REVISED Solicitation Overview Meeting (virtual) - 3/19/24 (originally 3/18/24) Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) currently maintains two operable elevated storage tanks (water towers) on site. A large 1-million-gallon structure (not in this scope) on the northeast side of the site that was constructed in the 1980's, and a 300,000-gallon structure on the southwest side of the site that is original to Camp Upton, constructed in the 1940's. The 300,000-gallon elevated storage tank has been in service for 80+ years and has outlasted its intended lifetime use. A new 500,000 gallon water tower is near completion and will be commissioned in the short future to meet campus demand to replace the existing 300,000-gallon elevated storage tank. Following the commissioning and operational transition of the new water tower, the 1940's vintage water tower will be slated to be demolished. This solicitation is for the demolition and decommissioning of the 1940's 300,000-gallon elevated water storage tank structure. The 1940's vintage structure is comprised of riveted structural steel standing roughly 160 feet tall with approximate diameter of 50 feet. The existing paint coating system(s) were confirmed via analytical sampling to be lead based paint with elevated levels of Barium and other heavy metals. All work shall conform to applicable federal, state, and local code requirements. The scope of work shall be performed in accordance with the Soliciation and enclosures (link provided).
