Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Corpus Christi, Texas. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

Scope of Work The project scope of work includes: Base Bid Work: Construct a detention pond and berm along La Volla Creek. The proposed new detention pond includes inlets and outlets off Airport Tributary #1 and La Volla Creek and also, erosion and water quality improvements. Pond inlet structure #1 consists of a single low-flow RCB culvert connection to Airport Tributary #1. The structure is designed to divert flow into the detention pond. During wet/high flow conditions a portion of the flow is diverted into the pond through the culvert and some flow continues downstream in the Airport Tributary #1. Pond inlet structure #2 consists of eight (8) RCB culverts with a weir elevation of 22.50 located along the south bank of the pond adjacent to La Volla Creek. When flow in La Volla Creek reaches the weir elevation flow enters the pond through Pond inlet structures #2. Pond Outfall Structure consists of a single RCB culvert located in the southeast corner of the pond and discharges into the Airport Tributary #1, downstream of the pond. The culvert serves a dual purpose. It drains the low weather flow from the reservoir during dry/low flow conditions and drains stored flow from the reservoir in wet/high flow conditions. New permanent gravel access road. Temporary gravel construction access road and temporary measures to protect an existing waterline and pipeline. Fencing, bollards, and gates to control site access. Exterior reservoir site drainage grading and drainage structures. Modification of existing abandoned gas wells. Site restoration. Turf establishment. Site amenities. Alternate Bid Work: The handling, transport and disposal of excess soil will be performed by one of the following Alternates selected by the City. Alternate 1. City retains ownership of excess soils. Contractor handles, transports, and disposes of excess soils at the City's JC Elliott landfill facility. Proposed Work at the landfill site also includes temporary traffic control measures, stockpile site preparation, clearing and grubbing, SWPPP, permanent gravel access road, permanent gate, partial County Road HMAC pavement repair, topographic surveys, subsurface utility investigation, and temporary measures to protect an existing waterline and pipeline. Alternate 2. City retains ownership of excess soils. Contractor handles, transports, and disposes of excess soils at the City's Cefe Valenzuela landfill facility. Proposed Work at the landfill site also includes temporary traffic control measures, stockpile site preparation, clearing and grubbing, SWPPP, permanent gravel access road, partial County Road HMAC pavement repair, topographic surveys, subsurface utility investigation, and temporary measures to protect existing pipelines. Alternate 3. Contractor retains ownership of excess soils. Contractor handles, transports, and legally disposes of excess soils at a public and/or private site(s) selected by the Contractor. Contractor shall submit documents (ex., agreements with property owner(s), permits, etc.) sufficient to confirm that the Contractor can legally dispose of the excess soils at the proposed public and/or private site(s). Proposed Work at Contractor's proposed disposal site(s) also includes temporary traffic control measures, disposal site preparation, and SWPPP measures as and if necessary. Alternate 4. Partial repairs to the Airport Tributary #1 drainage channel which includes bank repair, debris and concrete structure removal and disposal, and proposed rip rap. Alternate 5. Proposed Park improvements consist of the following. Wooden shelters/kiosks. Wooden benches. Landscape plantings. Pedestrian trail signage. Gravel parking lot and ADA compliant HMAC parking. Gravel pedestrian trail from parking lot to pond. Shared gravel maintenance road and pedestrian trail on top of pond berm. Estimate: Base Bid $8,507,630 + Add Alts Selected Type: Drainage Construction, Earthwork, Excavation and Hauling Wednesday, March 6, 2024, by 4:00 PM (CT) Requests for Clarification from Bidders are due Wednesday, March 13, 2024, Responses to Requests for Clarification will be posted via Addendum in CivCast Bidders must submit an acceptable Bid Security with their Bid as a guarantee that the Bidder will enter into a contract for the Project with the Owner within 10 days of Notice of Award of the Contract. The security must be payable to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas in the amount of 5 percent (5%) of the greatest amount bid. Term The work is to be substantially completed within 510 days. May 2024 Projected Date Award of Contract June 2024 Anticipated Notice to Proceed
