Demolition, site work and new construction of a water / sewer project in Somerset, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the demolition of a water / sewer project; for the construction of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.

The Town of Somerset is requesting Bids for the construction of the following Project: High Service Pump Station and Water Mains, DWSRF 7134, Contract 2. The Project includes demolition of existing pump station, construction of a pre-engineered pump station and associated water main work. The Project includes the following Work: Construction of the High Service Pump Station and Water Mains including the demolition of the existing booster pump station at the Hot & Cold Lane tank site, installation of a new booster pump station and interconnecting pipe, removal of the existing 6-inch diameter Asbestos Cement water main in Hot & Cold Lane, installation of new 16-inch diameter water main, connection to side streets, residential service connections and rehabilitation of pressure reducing valves and check valves in vaults that establish the limits of the high service zone. Owner anticipates that the Project's total bid price will be approximately $2,650,000. The bidding and award of this Contract will be under the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 30, Section 39M. Complete instructions for filing Bids are included in the Instructions to Bidders. No bidder may withdraw their Bid within thirty (30) days after the actual date of the opening. Each General Bid shall be submitted in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and shall be accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of 5 percent of the Bid. Minimum wage rates as determined by the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development under the provisions of Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 149, Sections 26 to 27D, as amended, apply to this project. [NTS: The following three paragraphs are required if project is SRF funded, delete if not] The work under this contract is funded in part by the Massachusetts Clean Water Trust (the "Trust"). Neither the Commonwealth of Massachusetts nor the Trust is a party to this Contract. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informality in or to reject any or all Bids if deemed to be in its best interest. The goals for this project are a minimum of 4.2 percent D/MBE participation and 4.5 percent D/WBE participation by certified DBEs.
