The right is reserved to accept any bid, or to reject any or all bids. This work shall consist of the application of bituminous material (emulsion or liquid asphalt) on a bituminous or concrete pavement prior to paving a new lift of Hot Mixed Asphalt. Alteration of the Work -- The City of New Brighton reserves the right to increase or decrease the quantity of the work originally contemplated in the contract. Regardless of the final scope of the contract, payment to the contractor will be made on the basis of unit prices as stated in the proposal. Maintenance of Traffic -- At all dangerous sections, by-passes, and intersecting roads, the contractor shall, at his own expense, furnish, erect and maintain such warning barricades as are necessary and required by the Engineer, and he shall place and maintain adequate "Flasher Lites" at each barricade. It shall be the contractor's responsibility to make checks and inspection of all lights and barricades, including Sundays and holidays. He shall maintain the streets in a passable condition, shall conduct his work to create a minimum amount of inconvenience to traffic and shall furnish flag persons at those locations where the operation of construction equipment endangers traffic.
