Project Description It is the intent of Beaufort County to solicit competitive sealed proposal from qualified and experienced marine contractors to provide construction services for the repairs to the existing Battery Creek Bridge along Spanish Moss Trail in Beaufort, South Carolina. Scope of Work The scope of work, as indicated on the contract drawings by McSweeney Engineers, LLC includes, but is not limited to the following items Base Bid 1. Removal of north and south concrete apron slabs and caps. 2. Removal of north and south timber abutments. 3. Removal of existing pile jackets at selected timber piles. 4. Removal and re-installation of existing handrails. 5. Removal and re-installation of existing benches. 6. Removal of concrete slabs at existing benches. 7. Installation of new FRP composite sheet piles with timber pile deadman anchoring system at north and south ends of bridge. 8. Installation of new concrete sheet pile cap. 9. Installation of new concrete approach slabs at north and south ends of bridge. 10. Installation of concrete pads for benches to be reused. 11. Repair of existing concrete trail and/or embankments caused by construction work. It is the intent of Beaufort County to solicit competitive sealed proposal from qualified and experienced marine contractors to provide construction services for the repairs to the existing Battery Creek Bridge along Spanish Moss Trail in Beaufort, South Carolina.
