As of July 23, 2024, a developer has been selected for the project. A firm timeline for construction has not been established. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: New York State Urban Development Corporation d/b/a Empire State Development (“ESD”) hereby requests responsive and responsible parties to submit proposals for the purchase and adaptive reuse including affordable and supportive housing of the 0.4-acre site of the former Bayview Correctional Facility at 550 West 20th Street New York, New York (“the Site”). The Project’s purpose of providing supportive housing, affordable housing, and community facilities will confer community benefits and enhance the reintegration of the Site into its surrounding communities. ESD invites all qualified parties to submit proposals for the reuse and redevelopment of the Site in accordance with the goals and objectives of the Project and the parameters specified in this RFP.
