The Wallkill Fire District is seeking sealed bids for the removal of snow during the 2023/2024 winter season. Snow is to be removed when there is 2- 3 inches of snow accumulation on the ground. The Contractor must plow and remove snow from all parking areas, walkways, front apron and entrances of the firehouse, social hall entrances and sidewalks, and Sheriff's entrance located at 112 Bona Ventura Avenue, Wallkill, New York. Contractor must also plow, when there is 2-3 inches of snow accumulation on the ground, the following off-site locations: Wallkill River access, located next to the Wallkill Valley Federal Savings and Loan Bank; and a dry hydrant located at the Wallkill Rod & Gun Club Pond, located on Bruyn Turnpike. The District will be looking for a per-plowing cost or would consider a flat fee bid. The District has the right to decide which, if offered, is the most cost effective. Price to also include the use of salt and removal of snow piles at the Fire House location, as requested. These are to be bid as a separate items. Contractor will bill the Fire District on the last day of each month of operation. Bill will reflect the date services were performed, where services were performed and hours billed. The contractor will assume responsibility for all loss or damage to their own equipment. Contractors are required to provide the District with a Certificate of Insurance, with a minimum of $1,000,000 in each commercial liability, injury and property damage, naming Wallkill Fire District as additional insured (with the additional insured endorsement). The accepted bid shall be in effect from November 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024. All bids are to be placed in a sealed envelope and plainly marked SNOW PLOWING BID and shall be addressed to Philip LaRocco, Secretary/ Treasurer, Wallkill Fire District, PO Box 460, Wallkill, NY 12589, and postmarked no later than October 9, 2023 or delivered in a sealed envelope to the Office of the Secretary/ Treasurer no later than 6:00 p.m. on October 17, 2023, to be considered. The Board of Fire Commissioners maintains the right to accept or reject any or all bids and to re-advertise for same.
