Saving Project...

Renovation of a museum in Manhattan, Kansas. Design plans call for the renovation of a museum.

The City of Manhattan, Kansas ("City") is requesting qualifications from an exhibit or media design firm for exhibit design services for Stepping into the Prairie, a new immersive visitor experience about the Flint Hills ecosystem located on the second floor of the Flint Hills Discovery Center ("FHDC") at 315 S. Third Street in Manhattan, KS. The FHDC is seeking a multi-media design firm that can take the concept from its existing preliminary framework through finished product, including design development, prototyping, and final implementation. The City's maximum budget for the project is $400,000, with these design services not to exceed $285,000. Mailed submissions shall be enclosed in a sealed envelope clearly marked "Flint Hills Discovery Center Stepping into the Prairie RFQ Submission." The City will not accept oral submissions, or copies received by telephone, facsimile machine, or e-mail. All submissions received after the deadline shall not be considered. Questions concerning this project should be addressed in writing to: Susan Adams, FHDC Director, at adams@cityofmhk.com. Questions must be submitted by September 22, 2023, at 5:00 P.M. Statements made by the City are not binding unless confirmed in writing via an addendum. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
