Site work and paving for a road / highway in San Rafael, California. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

Improvements for this project will generally include grading and installation of rock slope protection, culvert replacement, and roadway repair. Traffic control will be required. The Engineer's estimate for this project is $60,000. Bids are required for the entire work described herein. The Contractor shall possess a valid Class "A" License at time of bid submittal. To bid on this Project, the Bidder and all subcontractors are required to be registered as a public works contractor with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to the Labor Code. The Bidder's and all subcontractors' registration must remain active throughout the term of the Contract. A Bid Bond, cash, certified check, or cashier's check, in the amount of 10% of the total bid amount payable to the County of Marin shall accompany the Proposal. Award of contract, if awarded, will be to the lowest responsible bidder whose proposal complies with prescribed requirements, and will be within thirty (30) days after receipt of proposals. The Board of Supervisors of the County of Marin reserves the right to reject any or all bids and the right to waive any irregularities. At the successful Contractor's option, securities may be substituted for the required retention, in accordance with the provisions of Section 22300 of the State of California Public Contract Code. Pursuant to Public Contract Code Sections 7201 and 9203, the County of Marin shall retain 5 percent of the contract price until final completion and acceptance of the project. This project is to be advertised pursuant to Public Contract Code 22037. Questions concerning the Bid should be submitted no later than 5 p.m. on Wednesday, October 4, 2023. Inquiries or questions based on alleged patent ambiguity of the plans, specifications or estimate must be communicated as a bidder inquiry prior to bid opening. Bidder must visit the work site before submitting a bid. Bidder shall thoroughly investigate the conditions which will be encountered in the project including, but not limited to, existing underground and overhead utilities, steep, rocky terrain, road width, space needed to flag traffic, staging and site access challenges. This contract is subject to state contract nondiscrimination and compliance requirements pursuant to Government Code, Section 12990. The County of Marin hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business and woman owned business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color or national origin in consideration for an award. There is no pre-bid meeting scheduled for this project.
