The work to be performed under this contract includes emergency sewer and associated road rehabilitation work as needed throughout the Borough of Cliffside Park. The purpose of the contract is to retain a contractor on a stand-by basis, for a period of two (2) years, to make emergency sewer and road repairs or construct extensions to the storm and sanitary sewers of the Borough of Cliffside Park. Since the work to be performed under this Contract will frequently be of an emergency nature, no specific time of completion will be set for these assignments; but the work shall be completed within a mutually agreed upon time between the Contractor and Engineer. The Contractor shall begin work within eight (8) hours of being notified of the emergency repair by the Engineer. Each bid must be made upon the prescribed forms, furnished with the Contract Drawings and Specifications, including the non-collusion affidavit and ownership statement compliance form, and must be accompanied by a Consent of Surety and a certified check, cashier's check, or Bid Bond of not less than ten (10%) percent of the amount bid and, not to exceed $20,000.00. The successful bidder shall furnish and deliver to the Owner a performance and payment bond in the amount of 100 percent of the accepted bid amount as security for the faithful performance and payment of the Contract. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive informalities or irregularities in the bids received and to accept the bid from the lowest responsible bidder.
