Giles County, VA intends to pave a section of Shumate Falls Road located Glen Lyn, Virginia. Sealed paper bids may be sent to the address listed below, and will be opened and publicly read aloud on the due date. It is the responsibility of the bidder to ensure timely delivery of the bid. Giles County, Virginia is seeking bids on the paving of Shumate Falls Road in Glen Lyn, Virginia. The project will be 14 foot wide with shoulders tapered to match the existing slope, with a maximum of 18 inches. Specifications are outlined in Attachment A, and location is outlined in Attachment B. Each bidder must be licensed as a Class A contractor in the State of Virginia with H/H and PAV endorsements and authorized to transact business in Virginia. Bidders are instructed to review the Code of Virginia, Title 54.1, Chapter 11, prior to bidding. The contractor must provide construction and construction inspection (CEI) services to supplement field staff during the construction phase from notice of award to project closeout. Project Coordinates: Starting at 37'22'36.109"N - 80'52'35.293"W; ending at 37'23'52.608"N 80'51'4.455"W The project consists of paving an approximate 2.5-mile section of pavement 14 feet in width, plus approximately .2 miles of additional pavement connecting Shumate Falls Road to three boat ramps within the 2.5 mile section. The additional pavement shall also be 14 feet wide. See attachment A. The portion of the road to be paved and paving at boat ramp locations are shown on Attachment B.
