**As of December 11 ,2023 project was awarded to Southern Underground, awarded amount is $1,537,638.35.** Question Deadline 10/21/2023 All questions about the meaning or intent of the Contract Documents are to be directed to the ENGINEER. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by ENGINEER in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda mailed or delivered to all parties recorded by ENGINEER as having received the Bidding Documents. Questions received less than ten (10) days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered. Only questions answered by formal written Addenda will be binding. Sanitary Sewer System Improvements Contract 1. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids for just cause. Such actions will be in accordance with Title 38 of Public Bid Law. The work is generally described as follows: Smoke Testing of approximately 37,000 linear feet of sanitary sewer mains and 121 manholes. Television inspections of approximately 37,000 linear feet ofsanitary sewer mains, followed by sewer main and manhole rehabilitation to reduce inflow and infiltration within the South Plaquemine Sewer Collection System. Copies of the bidding documents shall be obtained from the office of Pan American Engineers, LLC upon deposit of $150.00 for each set of documents; or from the electronic bid submittal option as noted in the Advertisement. The deposit on the first set of documents furnished to bonafide prime bidders will be fully refunded upon return of the documents, in good condition, no later than ten (10) days after receipt ofbids. On other sets of documents furnished to bidders, the deposit less actual cost of reproduction will be refunded upon return of the documents, in good condition, no later than ten (10) days after receipt of bids The Instructions to Bidders, Bid Form, Agreement Between Owner and Contractor, Forms of Bid Bond, Performance and Payment Bonds, Drawings and Specifications, and other Contract Documents. Each Bidder must deposit with the bid, security in the amount of at least five percent (5%) of the total bid price, as described in the Instructions to Bidders. The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a Performance Bond and Payment Bond, in an amount equal to 100% of the Contract amount, written by a surety or insurance company meeting the requirements noted in L.R.S. 38:2219 A. Coordination of Work: The CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for the coordination of all work so that the project can be completed within the time stipulated in the Contract. Handling and Storage: The CONTRACTOR shall, at his own expense, handle, haul, and distribute all materials and all surplus materials for the different portions of the work, as necessary. He shall provide suitable and adequate storage room for materials and equipment during the progress of the work and be responsible for loss, or damage to, materials and equipment furnished by him, until the final acceptance of work. All excavated materials, construction equipment, materials and equipment to be incorporated in the work shall be placed so as not to injure the work and so that free access can be had at all times to all parts of the work and to all public utility installations in the vicinity of the work. Storage charges and demurrage charges by transportation companies and vendors, which result from delays in handling, shall be borne by the CONTRACTOR.
