CANSOFCOM is a high- readiness organization, able to deploy special operations forces on short notice to protect Canadians from threats at home and abroad. The mandate and size of CANSOFCOM and its subordinate units has grown significantly over the years, and while projects have been completed at DHTC to support growth in personnel as well as new equipment and capabilities, the infrastructure at the site is undersized, in varying states of disrepair or is no longer suited to the current use. The project site is divided legally into three parcels which are located east of Dwyer Hill Road and separated by Franktown Road. The two north parcels have an approximate area of 46 hectares, while the south parcel is primarily undeveloped and consists of approximately 37 hectares. This package includes the construction of a structural steel framed canopy with a galvanized roof frame on building B25D. Bonding capacity for the project is set at $500,000.
