This project shall consist of furnishing all necessary materials, machinery, equipment, superintendence, and labor for the Paving and Drainage Improvements to CR 3344 (From CR 336 to S.H. 155) for Smith County, Texas. Smith County reserves the right to accept or reject in whole or in part any bid received and to waive any irregularities or formalities in the best interest of Smith County. The improvements for this project shall consist of the following work items and/or categories. This description may not include all the work items that are required for this project, whether the items are paid or subsidiary to pertinent items. The project provides for the construction of a new 30-ft. wide county road (Length = 8346 feet), with 40-ft. wide intersection flares, with cement treated subgrade, HMAC base, and HMAC surface, and the installation of storm sewer and drainage crossing structures, installation of utility casings at crossings, with pavement markings, and all necessary appurtenances. The project also includes the installation of a deceleration lane along SH 155 with cement treated subgrade, HMAC base, one course surface treatment, and HMAC surface. The project is located on a new alignment which will allow the road to be closed to public access during the construction of the project. The construction of the deceleration lane along SH 155 will require a traffic control plan and traffic to be maintained throughout the duration of the project. The construction of the intersection at CR 336 and the I-20 Frontage Road will require a traffic control plan and traffic to be maintained, except during critical work items. Closure of the I-20 Frontage Road roadway for critical work items shall be allowed but limited as much as possible. Contractor shall notify affected property owners prior to such closures. Final cleanup of all work areas shall be made prior to final acceptance of the project. Prospective Bidders are expected to inspect the site of work and to inform themselves regarding all local conditions.
