Site work and paving for a road / highway in Springfield, Missouri. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

Extending Kansas Expressway Corridor south from Plainview Road (FarmRoad182) by approximately 4,400 feet and extend Farm Road 190 by approximately 1,875 feet. Work includes grading, paving, striping, and signing. All questions concerning the bid document preparation can be directed to the Greene County Highway Department at 417-831-3591. Project specific questions can be directed to Wayne Housley at 417-829- 6518. Bidder will be responsible for scheduling the pickup date from shipping service. Note: The Greene County Highway Department assumes no liability for ensuring that the documents mailed or shipped will arrive in time for bid preparation. All bidders must purchase plans and documents through Greene County Highway Department to be on the plan holders list in order to bid the project. All bidders must have a fully responsive contractor questionnaire on file with the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission (MHTC) at least seven (7) days prior to the bid opening date. All bids shall be submitted as a hard copy. The Greene County Highway Department assumes no liability for mailed or shipped bids failing to arrive prior to the closing of bids. The Wage Rates applicable to this project have been predetermined as required by law and a reset forth in the bid proposal. When Federal wage rates are applicable and included, this contract is subject to the "Work Hours Act of 1962" (P.L. 87-581; 76 Stat. 357) and implementing regulations. The successful bidder shall comply with the requirements of RSMo 292.675. The requirements include on-site employees to complete the ten (10) hour Occupational Safety and Health Administration(OSHA)Construction Safety Program, which includes a course in construction safety and health approved by OSHA or a similar program approved by the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations. Greene County hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered in to pursuant to this advertisement, businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, religion, creed, sex, age, ancestry, or national origin in consideration for an award. The DBE Goal for this project is 8% with 1 construction trainee for 1000 hours. Bidders are informed that all contractors are subject to full compliance with all applicable laws, ordinances, rules and regulations and the requirements of the Equal Opportunity Act as it is not the intent of the owner to arbitrarily dismiss any authorities. A bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid amount must accompany each bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. Proposals must be on forms provided and all unit price bids, extensions and total provided thereon shall be completed fully. Second-tier subcontracting will not be permitted on this project. The proposer states that it will ensure that subcontractors do not subcontract any portion of the work. For any contract greater than $5,000, the successful bidder shall comply with RSMo 285.530, as amended and by sworn affidavit affirming that it does not knowingly employ any person who is an unauthorized alien and participation in a federal work authorization program with respect to the employees working in connection with this contract. The required documentation must be from the federal work authorization program provider. A letter from contractors reciting compliance is not sufficient. Greene County will award the project to lowest, responsive, and responsible bidder. Greene County reserves the right to accept or reject any bid and to waive any irregularities. A Bid may not be modified, withdrawn or cancelled by the bidder within sixty (60) days following the time and date designated for the receipt of bids, and each bidder so agrees in submitting his bid. The shipping and handling fee will be waived if the prospective bidder emails/sends the Greene County Highway Department a pre-paid shipping label from FedEx or other delivery service. Bidder will be responsible for scheduling the pickup date from shipping service. Note: The Greene County Highway Department assumes no liability for ensuring that the documents mailed or shipped will arrive in time for bid preparation. All bidders must purchase plans and documents through Greene County Highway Department to be on the plan holders list in order to bid the project.
