As of January 5, 2024, this project is in the conceptual phase. The owner is in process of selecting a design firm. No rfq's were received and an award has not been made. Although a firm timeline for construction has not been determined, it is anticipated construction will start in July 2024 or after. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: Our organization is seeking a qualified engineering firm to provide site design services for a restroom facility to be either pre-fabricated or built on site. The facility will be located at 150 S. Front Street, Smithfield, NC and will serve the Neuse River Amphitheater. The selected firm will be responsible for providing a site plan that meets all applicable codes and regulations, as well as the specific needs of the project. Scope of Work: The engineering firm will be responsible for the following tasks: Conduct a site visit to assess the location and identify any potential issues that may impact the design or construction of the facility. Develop a site plan that includes the location of the restroom facility, sidewalks, and any other necessary features. Ensure that the site plan meets all applicable codes and regulations, including ADA accessibility requirements. Provide detailed drawings and specifications for the site design, including grading, drainage, and utility connections including pump station if needed. Work with the pre-fabricated restroom manufacturer or building contractor to ensure that the site design is compatible with the selected building design. Provide construction assistance, with possible on-site inspections and coordination with contractors. The engineering firm should have the following qualifications Experience with site design for similar facilities. Knowledge of applicable codes and regulations, including ADA accessibility requirements. Familiarity with the local area and any specific requirements or regulations that may impact the project.
