Development of conceptual design plans for the addition of pedestrian-scale lights along the Washington & Old Dominion (W&OD) Trail from Catoctin Circle SE at the car wash to Catoctin Circle SW at Loudoun County High School. The project will include the extension of W&OD Trail operations from sunset to until 9pm or 10pm at night, thus legitimizing a route along the trail after sunset for bicycles and pedestrians to travel within, and immediately surrounding, the downtown area. This project is included in the Capital Improvement Program for FY2024-2029. Project is funded for FY2024-2026. As of November 5, 2024, per owner, the Town and design firm, have completed the conceptual design phase and now seek public input at the second public meeting for the project. The project will only advance after receiving an endorsement from the Town Council to proceed into final design and construction. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly.
